The region of Oporto

Oporto is the hub of an extensive motorway network allowing rapid and easy access to some of Portugal's most beautiful regions, that offer a wealth of culture and history. These include the Minho with its verdant landscape, opulent palaces, manor houses, the spectacular terraced vineyards of Douro Valley and the historic cities of the Beiras. Northwestern Spain, famed for its spectacular ‘rias' and abundant seafood, is also within easy reach.

Just a short distance from metro and mainline rail stations and with easy motorway access, The Yeatman is ideally located to explore, not only the city of Oporto itself, but the beautiful surrounding coastal and inland areas which constitute one of the most beautiful but little known parts of Europe. Charming historic cities, such as Braga and Viana do Castelo to the north in the Minho or the ancient university city of Coimbra to the south, are within range of a leisurely day trip. For the wine lover, visits can be arranged to leading vineyards and estates in the Douro Valley, Minho, Dão and Bairrada wine regions, all easily accessible by road.
