The Chef
Born on August 12th, 1979, Ricardo Costa is one of the leading chefs in Portugal. Under his guidance, The Restaurant at The Yeatman was awarded a Michelin Star in 2011. |

Trained at the School of Hospitality and Tourism Coimbra, his experience includes time spent in many hotels and restaurants in mainland Portugal, Madeira, Spain and England. Of special mention, are the following : Assistant Chef at the Restaurant "El Girasol" with Chef Joachim Koerper, Deputy Chef at the Sheraton Porto Hotel & Spa with Executive Chef Jerome Ferreira, and Executive Chef at Restaurant "The Portal" in London. More recently while Executive Chef at the Hotel Casa da Calçada in Amarante, the restaurant was awarded a Michelin star in 2009 and again in 2010. Ricardo received the annual Chef of the Year award in 2009 by the Portuguese magazine "Wine” and is considered the leader of a new generation of Portuguese chefs. Ricardo currently holds the position of Executive Chef at The Yeatman, being responsible for their two kitchens, with special emphasis on its Gastronomic Restaurant. Ricardo Costa is married and has one daughter. |
