"Sociedade dos Vinhos Borges” was created in 1884 by two brothers, Francisco and António Borges, who founded a number of businesses related to various sectors, namely Banking and Port Wines. Wine has been produced on this estate, for over 130 years, but it was at the start of the new millennium that Júlio Bastos started his new project, Dona Maria Wines. "In 2011, I returned to the same winery where in 1987 I worked my first harvest, between the cold and in the highest vineyards in Portugal. Taylor’s is now over 300 years old. It remains a family firm, completely independent, owned still by relations of the original partners.
