Luís Pato
The Pato family has been producing wine at Quinta do Ribeirinho since the XVIII century.
João Pato started bottling wine from his vineyards in 1970, becoming the first winegrower to do so after the demarcation of the Bairrada region in the same year. His son Luis Pato inherited his nonconformist and pioneer spirit and as from the 1980 harvest took over control of the Quinta. At the moment, the family owns 65 hectares of vineyards. They use exclusively Portuguese grape varieties which include Baga and Touriga Nacional (red grape varieties), and Maria Gomes, Bical, Cerceal, Sercialinho and Arinto (white grape varieties).
