Caves São João is a wine, sparkling wine, and spirits producer from Bairrada and Dão regions. Founded in 1920 by the Costa brothers, it is a century-old company. In the 1930s, began producing wines and sparkling wines. It played an important role in the production of sparkling wines according to the traditional method, similar to those of Champagne. In the 1950s, Frei João from Bairrada and Porta dos Cavaleiros from Dão brands were born. In 1970, it acquired Quinta do Poço do Lobo estate with 40 hectares. It has a unique collection of old wines from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s.
