The Yeatman received the highly acclaimed award for the ‘Best Regional Wine List in the World’ as judged by The World of Fine Wine in London, on 10th September 2019 in their annual World’s Best Wine Lists 2019 Awards.
The Yeatman’s Wine Book also won ‘Best Regional Wine List Europe’, the Three-star award and a very special Jury Prize at the same event.
The World’s Best Wine Lists Awards organised by the leading UK Publication, The World of Fine Wine, are judged by prestigious wine experts and honour exceptional wine lists around the world. Entries are assessed by some of the world’s leading wine critics and Masters of Wine, on a world class judging panel.
Criteria for the award include: depth, interest, quality and value of the wine selection, clarity, accuracy, completeness and suitability in terms of the cuisine and the establishment.
This award comes on the heels of winning in 2018, Best Regional Wine List Europe, as well as attaining the prestigious three-star award annually since 2015 and Jury Prize in 2015, from the World’s Best Wine Lists Awards.
The Yeatman’s complete wine list, The Wine Book, has 1300 references, 97% of which are Portuguese wines, and the cellars are widely considered to hold the greatest collection of Portuguese wine in the world.
Jan-Erik Ringertz, The Yeatman’s General Director, said "it was a source of huge pride to receive this international prize which underscores The Yeatman’s integrity, worldwide reputation and commitment to its wine programme and the exclusive experience that it offers to its visitors.”
In its role as ambassador of quality wines in Portugal, The Yeatman’s Wine Book aims to portray the sensory profile of each of its 105 wine partners taking us on a journey through Portugal’s wine regions.
