Quinta do Vallado, built in 1716, is one of the oldest estates in the Douro Valley. It belonged to the legendary Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira and remains in the possession of her descendants to this day.
It is located on the banks of the Corgo River, a tributary of the Douro River, close to its mouth. For around 200 years, Quinta do Vallado’s main activity was the production of Port wines.
In 1993, the company decided to expand its activity to the production, bottling and marketing of Douro wines under its own brand. Today, its production stands out for the excellence and diversity of its red, white and Port wines, also extending to the production of extra virgin olive oil.
Quinta do Vallado currently has a total of 126 hectares of vineyards, spread between the estate in Régua and Quinta do Orgal, in the Douro Superior. In the wine tourism segment, it stands out with two hotel units: the Quinta do Vallado Wine Hotel, in Régua, welcoming guests since 2005, and Casa do Rio Wine Hotel, in Vila Nova de Foz Côa, an exclusive retreat entirely surrounded by organically farmed vineyards.
