São Domingos

In its cellar there are over 2 million bottles of sparkling wine, large amounts of bottled table wines and hundreds of French oak casks for the famous wine brandies. The Aguardente Bagaceira São Domingos produced in special stills is the market leader, always with the same quality.  In 2006 it was inaugurated into a modern winemaking centre that allows one thousand tonnes of grapes to come in from private estates and winegrowers working in partnership with the company. 

Under the protection of the reference "São Domingos” other brands have appeared:  "Lopo de Freitas”, "Elpídio”, "Quinta de S. Lourenço”, and "Volúpia” the most recent white wine, that that have surprised consumers and opinion makers alike. The wine tourism is already a successful business; every year it entertains and educates thousands of visitors with the beauty of its underground cellars carved into the rock. Millions of bottles, as well as the show room, an events room and museum with tasting room, are all part of the Bairrada Wine Route.
